I am using Windows Vista and I used to use Google Chrome while my parents’ used Internet Explorer. I really like Google Chrome because it is faster, opens up faster, and just how bookmarks are. I literally HATE Internet Explorer. So anyways, I open up google Chrome one day, and I get this-
Unable to access the network
Google Chrome is having trouble accessing the network.
This may be because your firewall or antivirus software wrongly thinks Google Chrome is an intruder on your computer and is blocking it from connecting to the Internet.
Here are some suggestions:
Add Google Chrome as a permitted program in your firewall’s or antivirus software’s settings. If it is already a permitted program, try deleting it from the list of permitted programs and adding it again.
Error 138 (net::ERR_NETWORK_ACCESS_DENIED): Unable to access the network.
So then I say, “WHAT THE HECK?!” because this happened to me out of nowhere! I used google chrome about 5 hours before this! Then, I checked my windows firewall and it was on the list of safe programs! I tried firefox and then I get this-
Unable to connect
Firefox can’t establish a connection to the server at www.google.com.
The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few
moments.
If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer’s network
connection.
If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure
that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.
So now I have no clue why any of this is hapening and I just want google chrome or firefox back! Please somebody HELP ME!!! I have been having to browse with Internet explorer for a week!

Close Google Chrome and Open Windows Explorer. In the Address box, type the following and press enter:
%LOCALAPPDATA% Google Chrome Application
Remove the SPACEs before and after the “”. I put them there because Y!A cuts off long words here.
Or go to C: > Users > YourUserName > AppData > Local > Google > Chrome > Application
Delete the zero byte file named “First Run”. That should reset your Google Chrome. It that didn’t help, try reinstalling it:http://www.filehippo.com/download_google…
Now for your Firefox browser, if you want to reset it, click on the orange Firefox Tab or press Alt. Go to Help > Restart with Add-ons disabled > Reset all user preferences to Firefox defaults > Make
changes and restart.
I have both chrome and internet explorer and get that message using chrome when I try to access pages that are unable to use Chrome. I never have problems with IE.
Chrome is faster but it also doesn’t have a lot that IE has so it’s glitchy. Try going into chrome and adding the add-on for explorer it may allow you to go to the sites you need.
Uninstall chrome with revo uninstaller… delete any key from registry related to chrome… download a fresh copy of chrome and install again… import proxy settings from IE… If u r using firewall or Antivirus or internet security software, make sure chrome is allowed for both inbound and outbound connections.
Just uninstall them and download new copies using IE, then install. The only problem I have had with Chrome is that sometimes “radio buttons” do not appear. This is cured by opening the wrench symbol followed by Options at top right then closing it again.
you can format windows and again check or contact for repair.
It is better to use one browser.
It’s probably ‘cooler’ to hate Internet Explorer, but if you try IE9 you might like it…. at the moment it’s probably my favourite…. (certainly it’s a lot faster than earlier versions, and more secure)
Basically, I use whichever browser works best with a site (One of my favourites is SRWare Iron which is a ‘cousin’ of Google Chrome, without the nosy, intrusive bits.)
