Who Is Really Behind All These Criminally Orchestrated Computer Viruses That Are Ruining The Internet?

By AntiVirus Posted in: trojan

Seems like every time I go online can’t help but run into one of these most irritating Trojan attacks..Now we all know that Windows a byproduct of the Microsoft Corp. has a weak firewall that offers little protection or none at all. It’s a fact that Microsoft has really cleaned up with all this anti-virus software over the years…somehow I get the feeling they are creating these viruses to sell us their own virus protection for the viruses their hackers first created? talk about a vicious circle what your thoughts!…

The problem with windows is that it is built on top of decades old system, that has to be maintained to allow older programs to run. Also, it has significant market share, so it is always a target. Thus all programs that are developed by microsoft are targeted by malware developers first. Most of other desktop OS’es, including desktop versions of Linux and surely MacOS can be hacked quite easily as well. But noone bothers, as their market share is too small. Server Linux is more secure than server windows though, as long as it is properly managed.

No, that is retarded. Viruses are created because they make money a hell of a lot of money. Most virus infections are the users fault.
Also Microsoft Security Essentials is free and is comparable to paid security solutions.

Well I do not agree with you.You know Microsoft is spending millions of dollars in their Research & Development department against virus, trojans etc.So I do not think so that in order to earn more money they will risk to lose their customers.

    Lots of ill-informed paranoia there.
First: Windows security isn’t all that bad. It’s not the best. But it’s not terrible either. Their firewall is certainly not their weak point. The weak point in Windows is (and has always been) the fact it wasn’t originally designed with security in mind. There were no barriers to protect the operating system from the computer’s users. But Windows itself is reasonably secure. Especially Windows Vista and Windows 7. I’ve gone years without picking up any viruses on my Windows computers.
Second: Unless I missed something, Microsoft doesn’t sell anti-virus software. So they have nothing to gain from purposefully being insecure. I’m not sure why you think Microsoft has cleaned up on anti-virus software.
It would be a bit self-defeating for Microsoft to create viruses that attack their own operating system. What would be the point? And there are certainly lots of folks out there who target Windows with viruses. Mostly because Windows is the most common consumer operating system. There are millions of users who do not keep their system up to date. So it’s easy for an attacker to make use of a well-established (and previously fixed) exploit to attack Windows computers. Even though the exploit may have been fixed before the virus was ever written, there are enough users out there who didn’t bother to update their computer that the virus can still be highly successful.
So, in reality, the biggest weak point in Windows’ security is the person sitting in front of the computer.
But who knows? Maybe I’m some sort of super-secret Microsoft employee, here to spread misinformation about Windows to assuage your fears and keep you from the real truth?!

there are people who actually create them to take down corporations or just cause caos, there was one that would email to everyone in contacts, and then infect and do the same over and over, and on a set date, it mass emailed microsoft with error reports to cause havoc on there systems.
people create most for there own ends, to do what they intend to. but thats a small amount compared to the vast amounts there are, they probably contribute to about 0.01% of viruses.
the rest are a combination of corporations gathering information, disgruntled workers, people out to get your details, and all sorts of corporations out to destroy your system, or monitor you for there financial gain.

  6. Ed G Says

You could not be more wrong. The windows firewall is fine for inbound attacks. You don’t get hacked because the firewall fails. You get hacked because you go to bad sites, and let the trojans in through a programs you opened. Every computer I’ve cleaned of trojans was never infected because their firewall failed. The users downloaded from P2P sites, or had not kept their third party programs updated. There are thousand of crooks writing malware every day. Microsoft has enough work trying to keep up.
