What’s The Possible Cause Why My Computer Is Getting Slower Downloading Even A Page Of A Website.?

Before I shut it down I always run the AVG anti-virus which I downloading from the internet. The slow in its download often resulted to hang & a notice is received ‘website is not responding’. At this instance, the mouse pointer no longer moves, the keyboard does not function and I got no choice but to press the ‘re-set’ button at the computer.

If I were you, I would do the following:
    1. Check to see how much RAM is being used. If you are maxed out, tapping into virtual memory can REALLY slow down your computer.
    2. Check to see how much free space you have on your drive C. If you are almost running out, you may need to do a cleanup.
    3. Check your internet connection speed (is your provider having problems?) and run diagnostics on your internet connection. This could explain slow webpage loading, but shouldn’t cause the whole system to crash.
    4. If you use your computer a lot for downloading, installing/uninstalling things, creating/changing files, you need to at least defragment your hard drive, but preferably do a number of other maintenance jobs on your system (clean your registry, clean out temporary folders, etc.). You’ll be surprised how much this can help! I personally use Auslogics BoostSpeed, but I started with their Disk Defrag – it’s a free download and you can get it on CNet. It is quick, easy to use and does a great job! BoostSpeed has Disk Defrag in it, but it also has a number of other tools that come in handy when you haven’t done much maintenance on your hard drive.
I hope this helps. Good luck!
