Yesterday I was browsing software and found some freeware from Stardock. However foolishly instead of downloading it from their website I downloaded it of some shady download site. The symptoms are:
>Massive slowdown in computer performance
>My motherboard fan is extremely noisy
>Adware appearing in clusters of two or three windows, appearing every 5-10 minutes, advertising PKR and Share Investment
>Processes Zll.exe and Zlk.exe appeared, both eating huge amount of memory and CPU. These were closable in task manager
>Advanced System Care Pro keeps detecting Registry Problems and Spyware/Adware Risks. After fixing them more are generated
> Processes atieclxx.exe, csrss.exe and winlogon.exe have appeared in task manager. These are normal processes but appear to be infected as they are usually not there and a message appears whereby they are impossible to close.
>Kaspersky has detected Trojan.Win32.Swisyn.jyb and HEUR:Trojan.Win32.Generic in Zim.exe and deleted it. As I wrote that it also found various Trojan-Downloader.Java.Agent.en problems and deleted them. My performance has slightly increased and the fan speed slighly reduced.
>Prevx. 3.0 is unstartable. It appears to have been attacked.
>Malware Bytes Anti Malware also appears to have been attacked. Previously it was much better at finding viruss than Kaspersky, however it is not finding anything wheras Kaspersky has identified 5 threats ad deleted all of them.
Any ideas what it might be?

1. Malwarebytes is not an antivirus. It detects a small subset of parasites (though it does it good). It does not detect viruses (that modify files) at all.
2. Your fan means that there are processes using up all the processing power of processor. Sort all processes by amount of processor power they use, kill the ones that use the most. These are probably the virus ones. (ZLL and ZLK)
3. The processes atieclxx.exe, csrss.exe and winlogon.exe are not necessarily bad or infected. it might be that they are requested more often.
4. Do a scan with ad-aware and spybot s&d. They might detect some files kaspersky and malwarebytes missed.
Sounds like a nasty virus. Download Combofix.exe. Only download it from bleepingcomputers.com (you can google this by typing combofix.exe in the search). Put it on a thumb drive and install it on your infected computer. Run it and you should be fine.
Here’s the link:http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/combofix…
Then click on Bleeping computer.
Kaspersky will not detect spyware, malware and trojans. I would say, the best spyware removal tool is Spybot. Pls follow below steps.
1- Download and install Spybot
2- Run Spybot but use only the “update” option to update the latest spyware detection db. Pls do not try “Check for problems”
3- Go to my computer properties and turn off the system restore for all drives.
4- Now try “Check for problems”. It may take few minutes
5- You will see list of identified problem. Select all (tick) and try “fix selected problems”
6- Restart computer and enable system restore which you disabled earlier.
This will solve your problem.
