My Computer Is Slow What Can I Do?

By AntiVirus Posted in: AVG Anti-Virus

Even if i reboot my computer it will still be slow. Every time I go to a different page it would “not respond” and the page will turn blank, and it’s not because im clicking a lot of times. I don’t know how it became slow, but I uninstalled all the files or stuff that isn’t needed and it STILL is slow. I have AVG and i don’t really plan to download a different anti virus thing because i trust AVG. So, what do i do?

You can trust AVG, but it can actually cause computer slow-downs. It did that for me when I decided to try it. Download Malwarebytes and run a scan – it’s not an antivirus and won’t conflict with AVG, but will find and remove stuff that AVG can’t even detect.
Additionally, here are some basic things you can do:
    1) Cleanup junk files. I use CCleaner
    2) Defrag – I use Auslogics Disk Defrag
    3) Manage startup items – I use startup manager included into CCleaner
    4) Uninstall unused software – again, there is a tool in CCleaner or try Revo Uninstaller
    5) Clean the registry – Auslogics Registry Cleaner is my favourite, but CCleaner is OK too
    6) Remove duplicate files – Auslogics has a free tool for that too
This should help. Also there are things like disabling unneeded services, tweaking Windows, but you really have to know what you are doing to apply those. Or you could use a suite like BoostSpeed or TuneUp Utilities. Not free though.

The problem with slow computers is that most of the time. It’s all to do with a hidden part of your system .This part of your system is called the ‘registry’ and is a huge database which stores all the settings and options for your PC.The reason why the registry is responsible for making your computer run slow is because it is actually prone to getting corrupt and damaged. Because Windows is constantly using the database when you’re using your computer, it’s constantly got 100’s of registry files open. This unfortunately means that Windows gets confused, leading it to save the registry files wrong, making them incredibly difficult for your computer to read. Think of them as files which are all jumbled up, making your computer have to spend longer to read them. You just need to be able to clean out all the damaged files from the registry, allowing Windows to read all the files it needs, when it needs them. And to do this, you just need to use a tool called a ‘registry cleaner’.I should like to commend Registry Easy to you ! http://clean-up-registry-faster-pc.com

Well the best thing to do is buy a new computer or spend money to upgrade the processor speed or RAM of your current computer. If you can’t afford to do that then you must fully optimize the speed of your current computer. The best way to do this is use a program to help. I use one that scans my computer and offers a diagnosis of what is wrong with it. You can scan your computer for free and try it yourself at http://www.registry-clean-up.net

lol, virus is only one of the problems you could have.
Have you thought about updating your virus definitions? If you are trying to fight 2010 virus with old run tables, like two years old, you are going to loose that war
Have you thought about Spybot Search & Destroy or Malwarebytes Anti-Malware to remove some of the malware from your computer?
