Hpv Reinfection From The Same Partner?

By AntiVirus Posted in: virus

i have been diagnosed with hpv 16 and 31 two years ago and did colposcopy and found CIN 1. My doctor treated me with laser and since then my pap smears are normal.
I am with the same partner for 4 years and obviously he has the same virus (we had unprotected sex for 2 years)..Since my treatment we have used condoms, but a month ago we did not use a condom for the first time after my treatment..We made unprotected sex for another 2 times. I am totally worried and stressed that i am going to become reinfected and get CIN again.. My life has become a nightmare..
Can i get the same virus strain again? I know he is monogamous, i am too, and we want to get married and have children.. What are we going to do? I have been cured for hpv, but the doctor did not find anything to my partner (that’s usually the case with this virus strain in men). Will i get reinfected since he did not have any treatment??
Please, i do not feel well at all.. I feel like i will never enjoy sex again..Everyday i become more and more pessimistic and anxious about that! What shall i do?

Unfortunately, there isn’t really any treatments available to make the HPV go away for good. I’m sure you partner feels badly about this, but the only thing he can do now is check himself for genital warts. If any warts appear, then they can be removed. Other than that, there isn’t any medication he can take to be cured of HPV. Sometimes the body can fight it off over time, but there isn’t a guarantee that will happen.
There is a chance that you could get the same strain again. However, if you are being regularly screened, I wouldn’t let this impact your sex life. Developing cervical cancer is a very, very slow process. As long as you are seeing your doctor for regular paps (and especially since you are having normal paps now), you’re going to be okay.
Life is not in our control – you do what you can, and roll with the rest of it. Becoming anxious will only ruin your life.

if he has the virus and you had unprotected sex with him, then you probably have it again. Yes, I’m thinking you can get the same strain twice. You should probably get a PAP smear done again.
