    Get free anti-virus.

Norton’s latest version is by far the best. It has the smallest system resource foot print in it’s class and is very user friendly. Configuration is easy to use and even includes a tool which displays the performance impact on the system.
The thing to be aware of about free ones is they track and report your internet usage, Norton doesn’t.

There is no antivirus or antimalware that provides 100% protection. Therefore, a combination of Avast free and Malwarebytes works best. They are 2 of the few antivirus/malware apps that can be on the system at the same time without causing file corruption.

It’s not that great; pretty bloated.
But then again, you don’t need a paid one to stop viruses anyway.
A free one like Avast or MSE will do fine, assuming that you don’t go to suspicious websites and/or download everything without making sure it’s legitimate.

Any of the 3 star rated will be good, I use Avast free with MBAM pro. I don’t get malware…
