    Can’t install or run Malwarebytes
Rename the mbam-setup.exe if installation fails.
Rename the mbam.exe if the program installs but does not run.
Start in SAFE-MODE with Networking if program fails to install run or update.(Hit F8 key repeatedly when computer is starting after a reboot)
IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO USE THE INTERNET OR RUN PROGRAMS START IN SAFE MODE.

There’s the hard way and the easy way. First things first though, save everything that is important to you and burn them onto disks/dvds (NOT a jump drive).
Now, the easy way is to reformat your hard drive. You will have to test to see if your files on your cds got corrupted or not, but if anything they’re still there and not wiped out. You can still print out the text files or photos, catalog what you need to re-download, etc.
The hard way is the download (or more likely purchase) some expensive anti-virus software that will take forever to install and run a full scan, and will most likely wipe out all your files in the end anyway in an attempt to wipe out the virus. This will most likely affect your system files, and you’ll need to do a re-format in the end anyway.
So pretty much, re-format your hard drive would be the best thing to do =P

The “easy way” indicated above will entail you having to reinstall all your software. Even if you choose the “save files” reformatting option, Windows will have forgotten all about the installation of those programs. In fact, it’s often necessary to reinstall the software, turn around and UNinstall it to clean up loose ends from the reformatting, then reinstall a second time.
Also, even though your data files will still be on the machine, you may have to jump through some hoops to be able to access them.
    Reformatting is a last resort.
I suggest you take a whack at getting rid of the malware. Try running a Norton 360 scan in Safe Mode. Safe Mode sometimes prevents malware from protecting itself.
Also, turn off System Restore to evict any copies of bad stuff that might be lurking there.
    To get into Safe Mode:
1.Log out and reboot your machine.
2.When the machine starts the reboot sequence, press the F8 key repeatedly.
3.Select Safe Mode from the resulting menu.
4.Login. If the malware has changed your password, try logging in as Administrator. By default, Administrator has no password.
5.The machine will continue booting, but the Windows desktop will look different.
6.When you’re finished doing what you need to do, log out and reboot back into normal mode.
    Good luck.
