Does Switching Off The Laptop In The Middle Of Windows Update Affect Its Performance?

I have to switch off the laptop when it is in the middle of windows update because it doesn’t finish! I have been trying to find a solution but I can find one and I think that holding the on/off button is affecting my laptop’s performance because it has slowed down a lot. By the way I also bought a few anti-virus softwares, so could this be affecting my computer or holding the off button in middle of the windows update? DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY SOLUTIONS TO SOLVING THE WINDOWS UPDATE PROBLEM? THE WINDOWS UPDATE DOESN’T FINISH EVEN WHEN I LEFT IT ON FOR 24 HOURS!!!!! PLEASE HELP…
