Do Video Accelerator Programs Really Work?

By AntiVirus Posted in: virus

I’ve used several video acceleration programs, but none of them seem to work well. The first one that I tried out, SpeedBit Video Accelerator, seemed to work great for the first couple of hours, but after that it sucked ***. It would actually cause the video to not load at all. I then downloaded AVG 2012 to re-vamp my virus protection, and it happened to come with a video accelerator as well… the only problem is, it doesn’t seem to work that well. In fact, I think that is also interfering with the normal loading speed of videos in general.
Should I disable the video acceleration function on AVG 2012, or can’t I do that? Is it doing anything good to the video loading speed?

If you have a poor Internet connection speed, then it’s not going to matter whether you use a video accelerator or not. In fact, any program that says it can do video acceleration will probably hurt the loading speed because of the calculations it needs to do to determine what actions need to be taken for the video.
