I have both Bitdefender Internet Security 2012 and Superantispyware Free (therefore no real-time protection) on the same PC.
Is it possible though that they are conflicting at all? I know Superantispyware is not an anti-virus but as it is a powerful tool i didn’t know whether it had the capabilities of screwing it up.

As has already been said, they will not conflict.
And in addition to SAS, it would be a good idea to add the free version of Malwarebytes Anti-Malware also (the free version of MBAM is also on-demand only (no real-time protection)).
Whereas SAS has a larger malware database, MBAM is more cutting-edge; and together they make about the best team available for detection and removal of malware.

Notes:
When you install MBAM, I believe it offers a free 30 day trial of the Pro (real-time) version.
It is up to you whether to accept it or not; and contrary to a statement above, it will *not* conflict with your real-time security suite… we have several users here who do just that.
(Keep in mind that after 30 days it will revert to on-demand only.)
ALSO, you should go to your startup menu via msconfig and remove anything related to SAS from startup…
there is no need to have an on-demand program start with Windows
my recommendation to you is to keep the free version of “SUPERANTISPYWARE” as it’s the best software around for tracking spyware and run daily scans!
But replace Bitdefender with “microsoft security essentials” which is free to download from microsofts website and covers viruses and ad-aware. Those are what i use and both are free and my current computer is free and clear.
Its recommended that you do not as a conflict could be caused…another tip Which magazine has just tested security and Microsoft security essentials beat most most the paid for ones although it does not have loads of fancy extras I find it works great without slowing down your PC. hope this helps.
I think only a couple of paid ones were better !!!!
Yes. You can have more that one Anti-Spyware/adware program. I have two. I have SuperAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes. You just don’t want to have more that one Anti-virus program installed in your computer.
A antivirus and anti malware/spyware are all different and should not affect your pc just for example don’t install two anti-malware programs or two anti-virus programs as they would then start conflicting and causing false positives.
No conflicts…SAS is a manual stand-alone scanner and will not affect BitDefender at all……You do have real time protection from BitDefender but not from SAS since it’s the free version……your fine.
