My computer has been messing up recently, and last year around Nov. I took it back to Best Buy for them to fix. The guy working there said it had a virus…but now it has the same problem that it did. And I don’t think its a virus. I use Webroot as virus protection. The screen seems to not be able to connect with the brain and sometimes the computer won’t come on. Other times a blue screen comes up saying “crash dump,” and more recently a screen has come up saying stuff about checking Bios Memory and Video Adapters… not really the point. I spent $200 at Best Buy for them to fix the problem, and it worked for a while, but not anymore. I’m not sure where the warranty papers are for my computer or if they’re already out of date. Would I be able to go to Best Buy and request warranty papers without shelling out a bunch of money considering how much I spent before?

Your mistake was letting Best Buy “technicians” touch your computer. You not only wasted your money but now your computer is messed up.
Find a real technician shop to fix your computer if you can not do it yourself.
Wear and tear happens to electronic devices no matter how well you take care of them. Before you buy, look at the warranty for the device. Most computers feature a one-year warranty, but some may offer more, along with extended warranty options.
Good question, call them and ask.
why didnt you contact the manufacturer first?
1-Best Buy wants to make money, take this into consideration every time you think about Best Buy.
2-Your issue is probably hardware unless you clearly changed something important recently.
3-Best Buy is supposed to keep their copy of the receipt because no one keeps them forever.
4-Make sure you go with someone who knows what they are talking about because Best Buy will only quickly look at it and say “there is a virus” because it’s the ideal thing to say. It means it’s your fault and they have to fix your mistakes…which is not true most of the time.
I know computers and I’ve been with a friend once to confront them, they didn’t even tried to prove their points, they got the manager and he said “oh, sorry we will fix this” and it didn’t cost a thing. Of course, run a few anti-virus first and if you downloaded torrents and illegal stuff, don’t try it because they will say it’s the source of the problem (and might be true).
I hate their customer service for computers, they have “fixed” computers I knew were fine and found weird problems and excuses every time. Only a few technician there knows what they are talking about.
Good luck! Don’t be afraid to ask to speak to the manager and bring an expert with you if possible!
